The Square at Les Eyzies

Les Eyzies De Tayac is situated in the Dordogne Valley in the region known as the Prerigord Noir in Aquitane.

It is one of the most famous sites for pre history and is right next to the river Vezere.

The area is incredibly beautiful. In the spring the air is filled with the scent of fruit trees in blossom. Summer with bright blue skys give a chance to walk in the countryside and marvel at the wild flowers that grow here or swim and canoe in the welcoming streams and rivers that meander through the valley.

At the centre of Les Eyzies

Les Girouteaux is located on the edge of the village of Les Eyzies a short walk to all the local amenities such as butcher, small supermarket, post office, cashpoint, chemist, restaurants, bars, cafes and a tourist office.

Les Eyzies has a number of excellent gourmet restuarants serving all the local delicacies of Foie Gras and duck confit. In addition there are a number of really good Pizzeria style cafe restaurants catering for young and old alike with a more simple palate.

La Beune

There is a great museum of pre history and a small train runs through the village showing all the sites of interest.

The Font de Gaume caves are almost opposite the property and well worth a visit and there are canoe sites for booking your trip on the Vezere river.
