Enjoy Christmas in the Dordogne
Christmas is a special experience in the Dordogne and you can experience the magic of the festive season in a beautiful farmhouse right in the very heart of the Dordogne Valley.
Enjoy a ramble through the woods or stroll through the amazing medieval towns. Relax in the evenings in front of a lovely log burner with a glass of the excellent local wines.
Revel in the Christmas markets held in Sarlat, Bergerac and Perigueux. Where cobbled streets are lined with red carpets, there are open air ice rinks and a chance to sample the wonderful local delicacies.
Many of the chateaux remain open during the winter – Castelenaud and Beynac, enjoy the amazing scenery without all the crowds. The prehistory caves remain open Lascaux and Font de Gaume and Grotte du Grand Roc.
Have a visit to the PIP, the new museum of prehistory right on your doorstep in Les Eyzies de Tayac.
